What to expect from Background Remover.
Which browsers support background removal?
This beta supports desktop Chrome and Edge when WebGPU and hardware acceleration are available. Safari and mobile fallback are not available yet.
Why is the first run slower?
The browser downloads an approximately 94 MB background-removal model on first use. Later runs may reuse the browser cache.
Is my image uploaded for background removal?
No. The model processes the original locally. Only the finished PNG is uploaded if you explicitly save it or open it in a private Studio project.
What file will I receive?
The result is a PNG with a transparent background. Fine hair, glass, motion blur, and low-contrast edges may need additional editing.
